Mr. Richard Sanders P.E., Polk County Engineer is the newly elected Treasurer of the Minnesota County Engineer’s Association, (MCEA). Mr. Sanders assumed his duties on January 22nd, 2010 at the Association’s 65th Annual Conference in Brainerd Minnesota.
Mr. Rich Sanders is a graduate of the University of North Dakota where he completed his BS degree in 1989. Rich started his work experience in 1989 working for a consulting firm in Worthington Minnesota. Working his way up through the ranks, Rich began work for Polk County as project engineer in 1991, became the Assistant County Engineer in 1994 and received his first appointment as Polk County Engineer in 2002.
Rich is active on several MCEA Committees including the 10 ton, Website and Standards Committees. He is Co-chair of the MCEA Technology Conference, and Chairman of the Research Implementation Committee, is a member of the U of M “ITS” Board, the NACE “ITS” Board, and the State Aid Mission Study Task force.
Mr. Sanders is married and lives with his wife Ruth, and two children in Crookston, MN. Rich is an avid golfer, hunter and Packer Fan. He is the President of the Crookston Blueline Hockey Program, is a MN State High School League Football Official and a member of his church’s Board of Directors.
