Mr. McDonald has a varied background in civil engineering.  He has worked as a land surveyor in Alaska, as a construction engineer while serving in the Peace Corps in the eastern Caribbean nation of Grenada, and as a project engineer with Zenk Read Trygstad in Albert Lea and Bolton and Menk in Fairmont.  In 1999, Mr. McDonald assumed his current position as Faribault County Engineer.

Mr. McDonald is a graduate of Iowa State University where he completed his BS degree in Civil Engineering.  He also holds a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.  Mr. McDonald is married and lives with his wife Deb and daughters Madeline and Audrey in Blue Earth, MN.  He enjoys Blue Earth Area High School athletics, as well as Twins baseball.  He is also active in several engineering associations including MCEA, NACE, and MSPE.  He is a past President of Trinity Lutheran Church of Blue Earth.
